Position Summary: The Creative Director will work closely with the Vice Dean for External Affairs and Public Relations and the Chief Marketing Officer to develop strategic design communication goals for both internal and external marketing and communications. Create illustrations of marketing assets (ie. journal/proposal covers, print and digital advertising, data visualizations, marketing publications, etc). Oversee a team dedicated to graphic design, illustration, motion graphics, and branding. Lead school-wide creative and brand strategy across several mediums (print, digital, web & social, video, wayfinding & signage, presentations & decks, etc). Develop creative briefs and decks illustrating concepts for marketing campaigns and other communications. Qualifications: Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area
Required Experience:
7+ years experience with marketing/communications and/or web communication techniques and supervision
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be a skilled illustrator with an ability to communicate a plethora of visual concepts and themes effectively. Ability to produce comprehensive creative briefs that lay out several options including their respective timelines per project. Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to independently generate visual and creative ideas and work collaboratively across organizational lines. Ability to lead teams effectively and demonstrate a record of success. Ability to build consensus with a variety of important stakeholders. Excellent writing and organizational skills and strong detail orientation. Displays broad knowledge of and appreciation for the communications profession, and is equally versed in both the established and emerging communications arenas and can anticipate promising trends before they are accepted in the mainstream.
Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
