At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Riverside, CA! If you're committed to making a difference in the lives of students with special needs and helping them achieve academic success, we want to hear from you!
About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, youâll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Riverside, CA
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Riverside, CA
- Schedule: 25 hours, 3 hours per session
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
Ideal Candidate:
- Credentialed teacher with experience supporting middle school students across core academic subjects
- Strong background in English/ELA, Pre-Algebra, Geography, Bible studies, and Life Science
- Experienced in supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs
- Calm, patient, and confident in responding to anxiety-driven behaviors and emotional dysregulation
- Skilled in breaking down assignments, reinforcing key concepts, and building academic confidence
- Able to provide structured, predictable instruction with clear routines and expectations
- Engaging, bubbly, and encouraging while maintaining firm and consistent boundaries
- Comfortable supporting peer interaction skills and social development
- Trauma-informed and able to create a safe, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction in English, Pre-Algebra, Geography, Bible, and Life Science
- Break down academic tasks into manageable steps to reduce overwhelm and build understanding
- Reinforce foundational skills and support completion of school assignments
- Support social-emotional learning, including coping strategies, emotional regulation, and confidence-building
- Respond calmly and effectively to frustration or tantrum behaviors using supportive strategies
- Support development of social skills, including conversational skills and peer interactions
- Maintain a structured, predictable learning environment to promote emotional safety
- Communicate progress and strategies with the family as needed
- Administer an academic assessment if appropriate to guide instruction (optional)
