About the Role

Are you passionate about empowering future nurses to succeed academically and clinically? Join our dynamic team as an Academic Success Coach, where you’ll play a vital role in guiding nursing students toward excellence. This position combines mentorship, academic support, and collaboration to create a thriving learning environment.

Peer tutors will provide small-group tutoring of participants in nursing and clinical courses.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor participants to build confidence, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.
  • Deliver engaging academic support programming, including tutoring and workshops tailored to nursing coursework.
  • Collaborate with university support services to ensure students have access to the resources they need.
  • Monitor participant engagement and progress, providing timely interventions and encouragement.
  • Supervise peer mentors, fostering a culture of support and inclusivity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
  • Proficiency in applying pathophysiology, pharmacology, and microbiology to clinical care.
  • Familiarity with current standards of care, documentation practices, and clinical reasoning frameworks.
  • Ability to explain complex nursing concepts clearly and effectively, using evidence-based approaches.
  • Skilled in tutoring techniques that promote critical thinking and self-directed learning.
  • Demonstrates patience, flexibility, and resourcefulness when supporting students facing academic challenges.
  • Commitment to creating a nonjudgmental, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
