We’re seeking a Curriculum & Content Development Manager to lead the design, development, and evaluation of high-quality education and training content.  Your work will support Slipstream’s workforce development initiatives, equipping individuals and organizations with the latest knowledge, skills, and tools needed to excel in the energy efficiency, renewable energy, and building science sectors.

The ideal candidate is an experienced instructional designer with a passion for workforce development and a knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy, home performance, building science and weatherization, and other sustainability-related topics.

What You'll Do
  • Curriculum Development
    • Design and develop innovative, engaging, and effective curricula for in-person, online, and hybrid training programs.
    • Ensure alignment of curricula with workforce needs, industry standards, and Slipstream’s mission to advance equitable climate solutions.
  • Content Creation
    • Lead the integration and management of curriculum and content within a learning management system.
    • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to translate technical content into accessible training for diverse audiences.
    • Create and oversee the development of training materials, including webinars, presentations, digital learning modules, videos, and assessments.
    • Apply best practices in adult learning, instructional design, and workforce training to ensure content is engaging, relevant, and impactful.
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement
    • Develop metrics and evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs and learner outcomes.
    • Collect feedback from participants and stakeholders to refine and improve curriculum and content.
    • Stay up to date with trends in energy efficiency, renewable energy, building science, and workforce training to keep programs relevant.
  • Collaboration and Leadership
    • Work closely with Slipstream’s Workforce Development team, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure education and training programs meet market needs.
    • Manage content development timelines and budgets to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Mentor and support staff, contractors, and consultants contributing to content development projects.
  • These responsibilities are not all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Environmental/Energy or related Sciences, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in curriculum design, instructional design, or content development, preferably in the energy efficiency or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional technologies, and training delivery methods.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated history of effective collaboration with diverse professionals, teams, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate technical information into accessible, engaging content.
  • Strong knowledge of learning management systems and digital learning strategies.
  • Understanding of AI approaches and methodologies in curriculum development


Preferred
Master’s degree in education, Instructional Design, or related field.

Physical Requirements
  • Primarily a sedentary role, with tasks typically performed while sitting or occasionally standing.
  • Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Tasks demand visual focus for reading and working on screens.
  • This position frequently communicates via phone and video conferencing, with in-person interactions as applicable.

 
Work Environment
  • Fully remote position with the ability to work from home or another suitable location with reliable internet access.
  • Must have the ability to work independently while staying engaged with the team through virtual communication tools such as email, chat, and video conferencing.
  • Requires a quiet and professional workspace for virtual meetings and collaboration.
  • Hybrid work available if located in Madison, WI or Chicago, IL. If in-office, expect a moderate noise level.
  • Typical schedule of 9–5 in Central Time zone [or any U.S. time zone].
  • Flex hours may be available depending on role and team requirements.
  • Travel up to 10% required for in-person meetings, conferences, trainings, etc.
