Job Description:

Position Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year; offer dependent on experience

Under general supervision, plans, organizes and coordinates activities with regards to  academic and curriculum activities and actions in accordance with priorities set by the  Office of the University Provost.

Essential Duties:

  • Serves as the primary coordinator for the university General Studies Council, including faculty communication and support, meeting facilitation, documentation, data management and reporting.
  • Oversees General Studies request process, working with academic units to ensure thorough and accurate proposal submissions.
  • Serves as a reference source for academic units in resolving discrepancies orprocedural problems utilizing knowledge of this specialized function; respondsto technical administrative questions ensuring necessary follow-up is performed.
  • Assists with undergraduate curricular proposal and check sheet review of ASU curriculum. This includes curriculum review during the annual catalog review process.
  • Serves as a university-level reviewer in Kuali Curriculum Management and Kuali Build. Including:
    • Review of all proposals for new courses and existing course modifications.
    • Coordination with the University Registrar's Office regarding implementation.
    • Liaising with academic units regarding university-review level comments and concerns.
  • Assists with data management within PeopleSoft to support resources such as Degree Search, academic catalog and the course catalog.
  • Assists with organizing and preparing data sets to be worked by team members or in support of executive leadership.
  • Develops business process guides and leads online and in-person training to support department processes and needs.
  • Recommends changes to policies or procedures affecting assigned function.
  • Plans and prioritizes workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Assists with special projects and/or ad hoc reporting as directed.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of  related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from  which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with ASU curriculum and academic policies and procedures. 
  • Experience with problem solving and decision making, planning, analyzing and coordinating activities. 
  • Experience in leading effective training sessions and developing supporting documents. 
  • Skill in managing multiple concurrent projects with varying deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic project management.
  • Skill in coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Experience with software applications including PeopleSoft, MS Office, Google  Drive, Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Acrobat. 
  • Experience with ASU software applications including DARS/uAchieve, Build A Major Map (BAMM), Program Architecture Tool (PAT), Kuali Curriculum Management and Kuali Build, retired Curriculum Changemaker/ACRES, and  Analytics. 
  • Skill in basic HTML coding. 
  • Experience in creating and updating website pages, including posting copy and loading images to websites. 
  • Experience in proofreading print and web publications for grammar and accuracy. 
  • Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills. 
  • Evidence of attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk. 
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions. 
  • Equipment used: Computer (monitor, keyboard and mouse), printer and copier.
