Curriculum Developer Full Description

Overview: 
The Curriculum Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging, person-centered training curricula that equip agency staff with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to provide high-quality support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to create innovative training modules that align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices while reinforcing the agency’s mission and core values.
 
Pay for this position:  $25.58 / hr - 27.50 / hr
 
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting

Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with content experts, program managers, and agency leadership to design and develop comprehensive training materials, including presentations, manuals, online courses, videos, and job aids. 
  • Ensure training materials are grounded in person-centered practices, ethical standards, and culturally competent approaches and comply with applicable industry regulations
  • Incorporate a variety of learning modalities, including in-person workshops, e-learning modules, simulations, hands-on training, and shadowing experiences.
  • Design and implement assessment tools, such as quizzes, skills assessments, and feedback forms, to measure learning outcomes.
  • Analyze training outcomes to evaluate training programs' effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
  • Incorporate evaluation data to refine and continuously improve training content, ensuring alignment with the agency’s goals and staff development needs.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development Specialist to utilize the learning management system effectively, ensuring that training modules are correctly uploaded, tracked, and accessible to staff.
  • Occasionally facilitate agency-wide training sessions, as needed.
  • Support trainers and facilitators by developing guides, scripts, and toolkits.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or adult education, ideally in human services, healthcare, or the IDD field.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and curriculum development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with e-learning development tools and platforms.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and accessibly.
  • Familiarity with training evaluation models and experience using data to improve content and learning outcomes.
  • Effective project management skills, including managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse staff, including DSPs, supervisors, and senior leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
