Position Overview

This position will perform data reporting and dashboard creation and maintenance operations daily such as Power BI dashboard creation/data querying and data refresh. This position will also be responsible for generating data requests via Blackbaud Raisers Edge/NXT by evaluating customer needs and data resources. The position will assist with projects regarding the building of a data warehouse and subsequent reporting involving Power BI or other software. This position collaborates with University Advancement, as well as University wide partners.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in quantitative research field such as social science research, data analytics, computer science, computer/information sciences, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

* Strong mathematical and technical ability.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Working knowledge of relational databases.
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Access and Excel.
* Ability to quickly assimilate to specific software.
* Ability to quickly assimilate how data sets impact related systems and functions.

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience with or certification in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, SQL or other programming languages, Power BI or other reporting software
* Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

Job Duties

  • Data Reporting: Review requests sent into the Data Team inbox. Fulfill the request by creating an export based on the criteria in the request. 
  • Data Request fulfillment (writing queries): Use/create/modify existing queries based on the criteria in the data request to create an Exportable List or Excel report. 
  • Dashboard Creation: Meet with other teams to learn what their data needs are. Plan and draft a dashboard model that fits their needs/requirements. Create a Dashboard based on that plan. Review existing dashboards currently being used and convert all existing dashboards to Power BI dashboards. 
  • Data Health and Integrity: Use exiting process or review current records to verify and validate the contents of the records. Update records based on research done to vet the records.
  • Importing Data: Use existing modules to import data contained in Excel files to add/update records.

Work Schedule
