As a Data Lifecycle Analyst for the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, you will focus on enabling organizational data management and information systems, aimed at increasing discoverability and retrievability, facilitating the review, dissemination, and data sharing process to ensure the delivery of compliant, timely, and relevant data. This will be achieved by developing and implementing new processes or conducting process improvement to ensure frictionless movement of data. This work supports and integrates with every aspect of the management lifecycles of data, from planning to preservation or disposal.

Primary responsibilities:
- In partnership with OHSU IRB and IPS, assist the Knight Chief Data Officer and Director of Data Strategy & Innovation on streamlining processes to review and analyze data to determine releasability, risk classification, coding and de-identification guidance for Knight investigators and data stewards
- Collaborate with study teams to share data in accordance with IRB approved protocols, executed contracts and agreements, and consent forms
- Develop queries to generate de-identified/limited data set/identifiable reports and/or datasets for sharing and reporting purposes
- Collaborate with study teams to define and capture metadata for clinical studies and evolving translational research assays
- Serve as the data steward for the Knight image repository (including user administration, de-identification processes and support)
- Support generation and curation of data sheets for Knight Data to ensure data releases are FAIR and responsible for ethical and transparent downstream modeling (such as for AI/ML) in collaboration with Knight investigators, Knight Chief Data Officer, Knight Director of Data Strategy & Innovation and Senior Computational Lead in Office of the Chief Data Officer
- Work closely with the Knight Data Operations team on the tracking and management Knight data assets
- Enhance data usability and discovery by developing R/Tableau reports to support key Knight Initiatives
- Support the Chair of the Knight Data Governance committee and the Knight Chief Data Officer on communication, education and outreach efforts on behalf of the Knight Data Governance Committee
Required Qualifications:
Education and experience:
PhD in relevant field OR
Master's Degree in relevant field AND 4 years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 6 years of relevant experience
Examples of relevant experience should include:
- Experience in data governance for clinical and translational research
- Experience in clinical and translational research data curation
- Experience with clinical research data management
- Experience with SQL development
- Experience using, deploying, and/or supporting scientific data-management software systems, such as LabKey, OpenSpecimen, or LabVantage
- Experience programming, preferably in Python, R, JavaScript, and/or HTML
- Experience with Tableau
- Experience in data analysis and report generation
Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Critical thinker, with willingness and ability to learn new subject areas
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree with major courses in biology, computer science, information technology, or other relevant field and 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience in data storage management
- Experience with relational databases including conceptual modeling
- Experience using and supporting image repositories such as Open Microscopy Environment (OMERO)
- Experience developing requirements for interfacing software applications
- Experience in SharePoint site design and maintenance
