The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a Data Network Installation Manager who will be focused on network wide voice and data cabling and various other systems. Reporting to the Manager of Data Communications, the incumbent will: plan and coordinate activities for Core Resources to ensure effective and efficient installation and maintenance.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
  • Plans and coordinates activities for Core Resources to ensure effective and efficient installation and maintenance of network wide voice and data cabling. In consultation with Facilities and Design project managers, plans and coordinates installation of low voltage wiring and fiber plant.
  • Analyzes cabling requirements for new and existing departments at all NYP and CUMC places of business.
  • Creates budgets, schedules and plans for projects, reviews work orders and repairs for adherence to standards.
  • Verifies that all equipment and materials are available, including racks, panels, wire management, cables, etc.
  • Monitors performance of contractors to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and to MC and hospital standards.
  • Contributes to innovative solutions essential in meeting customer due dates. Provides technical support and training as necessary.
  • Works, both hands-on and by providing guidance to network engineers, to ensure cable management throughout all network facilities is done in accordance with industry and MC best practices.
  • Evaluates voice and data communication and connectivity requirements for new and existing departments within the MC Campus and its affiliated sites.
  • Documents all aspects of the structured cable plant. Contributes to standards for relevant documentation and labeling.
  • Maintain a secure and reliable environment for the operation of network equipment.
  • Direct the delivery of design and construction services and outside contracted work in compliance with safety and industry standards, government regulations and established procedures.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of experience or equivalent in experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Incumbent must have experience in cabling project design and implementation, including diagnostic metrics and best practices training.
  • In depth knowledge of both voice and data cabling.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of multiple aspects of data closet, hardware, services and vendors.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MS O365 applications.
