Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary | The Dean of Students Weekly Announcements Assistant manages the first draft of Dean Price’s weekly announcements. This includes collaborating with campus partners, receiving the information, creating blurbs, and editing. This position requires strong attention to detail. Strong communication and organization skills, ability to manage many emails/submissions at once, and copyediting experience are desired.
Responsibilities
- Gather information from emails, websites, etc. to compile blurbs for Dean Price’s weekly announcements
- Reserve time during shift to verify dates and times of events, check website links, etc.
- Collaborate with campus partners on weekly announcement submissions
- Reply to requests from students, faculty, and staff
- Ability to create a cohesive draft by the end of every week, consistently meeting Friday deadlines- Communicate frequently with Dean of Students Jerry Price and Director of Operations Elise Cimino
Required Qualifications | Strong writing and editing skills are required. The student must exhibit a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and how to manipulate layouts, fonts, hyperlinks, etc. This position requires the student to have strong organization skills and keep track of the dozens of email submissions we receive each week.
Desired Qualifications | English or Creating Writing major. Past experience in copywriting or editorial.
