 Position Description 
Advertised Job Summary  | Under supervision, the Dean’s Advisor performs professional duties in the areas of academic advising, orientation, and program coordination in the Office of Undergraduate Studies in the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences. Advise students in McCausland College of Arts and Sciences majors on academic progress, perform senior checks, create graduation plans, and communicate with students regarding requirements for degree completion. Evaluate graduation applications and review graduating students’ transcripts in McCausland College of Arts and Sciences majors; communicate degree approvals and disapprovals to the Registrar’s Office and respond to student queries regarding graduation status. In coordination with the Office of Admissions and McCausland College of Arts and Sciences academic units, manage the processing of undergraduate readmission petitions in collaboration with the Admissions office and academic units. Assist with planning and implementation of events and activities conducted by the Office of Undergraduate Studies, including first-year and transfer student orientations, admitted-student weekends, and related events. Position requires some evening and weekend work.

Skills in administrative computing; use of student information databases, word processing applications, and web applications.
