Job Summary | The Registrar’s Office is searching for a Department Coordinator II. The office is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Bowdoin degree. We do this by equitably managing curricular offerings, facilitating course registration, disseminating information related to academic policies and processes, collecting grades, and issuing official certifications of students’ progress towards and obtainment of the degree of Bachelor of Arts.
The Department Coordinator II is responsible for providing comprehensive support and coordination for the department. This position involves handling a wide range of administrative tasks, managing departmental projects, and serving as a liaison between department members and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. May support multiple leaders or larger, more varied, complex areas.
The hourly range for this position is expected to be: $26.50 –$28.00/per hour

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office software applications. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external contacts. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents | Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an administrative support role or similar position. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hire.Standard Work Days and Hours | Administrative hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. This is a full-time position working 40 hours/52 weeks per year, with occasional evening or weekends as required.
