Department Manager - Politics Full Description

Position Summary: 
Arts & Science is seeking a talented Department Manager to join the Department of Politics. This individual will manage fiscal, academic-related and administrative operations for the Politics Department. Work closely with the Chair and Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies to develop strategies to meet short and long-term departmental goals. Manage special projects, staff, and budgets. Manage course patterns, resources, space, special projects, staff, budgets, student enrollment, and registration. 

Qualifications: 
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration or related field.

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant administrative experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience supervising departmental operations, staff, and administering budgets.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in higher education or non-profit environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to advise, solve problems, and interact with individuals at all levels. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Additional Information: 
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $87,375.00 to USD $95,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
