Attuned Overview
We are a team of experienced practitioners that combine empathy and rigor to help PK-12 systems and leaders become well aligned and well equipped to deliver breakthrough outcomes for all students—especially those farthest from opportunity. We understand what it takes to go from vision to impact.
“There always are folks who offer packaged solutions, but the best support providers are people who have lived and practiced the work and actually know there are no easy packaged solutions. The Attuned team offers deep expertise and thought partnership that is individualized and contextualized” (Aleesia Johnson, Superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools).
Founded in 2016, Attuned has earned the reputation as a trusted advisor, coach, and facilitator to schools and school systems across the country, as evidenced by
- Improved Student Outcomes: 80% of our school system partners have seen academic gains. By year 2 of our support, 95% see gains and 70% even narrow proficiency gaps between Black and Latinx students and statewide peers. Furthermore, several of Attuned’s longest standing partners posted record gains in student achievement.
- Instructional practices: 82% of our SY23-24 implementation school system partners saw growth in at least 2 of 3 observational instructional rigor indicators.
- Net Promoter Score: We’ve established a strong track record with our partners, resulting in a best-in-class NPS of 90, suggesting a high level of satisfaction with our supports.
- Tools and Resources: 97% of partners believe the tools and resources we co-develop continue to benefit them even after our support ends. They cite our unique ability to balance experiential and practical outcomes by attending to processes and relationships, ensuring that they are inclusive and accessible, while also ensuring the production of strong context-specific deliverables.
In order to meet the demand for our services, deepen our impact, and continue to focus on the health, wellness, and development of our team, we expect our team to continue to grow for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position Overview
The Deputy Chief Schools Officer (DCSO) develops the capacity of school and system leaders—including instructional coaches, principals, principal managers, regional superintendents, and CEOs—to create and implement equitable and excellent school designs grounded in research-based strategy and a commitment to DEIA.
An Attuned DCSO is motivated to support school and system partners to develop the plans, leadership capacities, and instructional knowledge needed to improve outcomes for historically underserved students, as measured by a set of agreed-upon annual improvement targets. - Collaborate with other Attuned members, as needed, to ensure school and system partners have access to deep content expertise.
