Position Overview
The Schools and Strategy Manager serves as a project manager for partnerships with school systems, leading data analysis and synthesis across a range of engagement types, including instructional quality reviews, constituent engagement, strategic planning, and performance data analysis. A core responsibility is producing clear, actionable insights that anchor each partnership's work, such as a mid-year comprehensive data reflection for a school system that includes student outcome trends and staff survey analysis. The position reports to a Chief Schools Officer and sits on the Schools Team, with close alignment to the Strategy Team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Lead creation of organizational diagnostic report (initial assessment of client strengths and challenges) via analysis and synthesis of myriad data sources.
    • Analyze quantitative data (e.g., student outcomes, student/staff demographic data, student/staff culture data, student/staff retention, student/staff/family satisfaction, etc.).
    • Synthesize stakeholder surveys, focus group findings and interview notes to identify strengths and challenges and generate and test hypotheses.
    • Conduct research and/or interviews for benchmarking analyses.
    • Synthesize data into meaningful insights, key takeaways recommendations, and presentations.
  2. Lead work-planning and project management.
    • Develop objectives, scope, meeting cadence, and deliverables.
    • Create and manage detailed project plans to track the progress of each interim and final deliverable.
  3. Support design and implementation of workshops with school system stakeholders.
    • Draft pre-reads for workshops, progress reviews, and board meetings.
    • Draft discussion materials, including presentations and notecatchers.
    • Facilitate small-group breakout sessions.
    • Create tools for (and in collaboration with) school system staff (e.g., org-wide scorecards, school dashboards, milestone trackers).
    • Synthesize findings and execute action steps in partnership with a Chief Schools Officer and/or Chief Strategy Officer.
  4. Support the growth and development of Attuned.
    • Support internal Schools Team functions (e.g., recruiting, progress monitoring).
    • Lead internal org-wide strategic projects and/or participate in org-wide committees, as requested.
    • Share evolving education trends and best practices with the team.
    • Leverage networks and identify and help build new lines of work as the opportunity arises.
    • Serve as a thought partner to colleagues, help solve a variety of day-to-day issues, and generate creative solutions for internal and external improvements.

Who Should Apply?
Did you know that research shows that women and people from underrepresented groups often apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications?  We believe that no one meets 100% of the listed qualifications.  We are less concerned about whether you’ve done everything on a laundry list of specific things and more interested in cultivating a diverse pool of candidates who have prior experience supporting school leaders, managing complex projects, analyzing and synthesizing data and who want to join a connected, mission-driven, hard-working team of practitioners driven by equity.
If much of this describes you, we encourage you to apply. This might be the right next role for you if you have:
  • Passion for our mission of dramatically improving PK-12 education for children from low-income communities.
  • Track record of leading with a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and Google equivalents (Sheets, Slides).
  • Familiarity with data visualization and productivity tools such as Tableau, Claude AI, or Think Cell preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data, synthesize large volumes of information, and produce clear presentations using charts and narrative.
  • Outstanding project management skills—ability to see big picture and to manage details.
  • 5+ years of work experience, including either school system experience or experience consulting to public and/or not-for-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, take initiative, and display tenacious follow-through.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking and planning skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial start-up environment.
  • Positive demeanor.

Successful candidates for the Schools & Strategy Manager will have significant experience analyzing and visualizing school system data either in: a) a school leadership role; b) a central office school support function; or c) as a strategy consultant providing data analysis, synthesis, and visualization to partner school systems.  At a minimum, the candidate has had project management experience driving a cross-functional initiative engaging multiple stakeholders.
