JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Leads the development of The Emory Policy Institute on Countering Antisemitism (EPICA) and is the primary representative in Washington, D.C. Hires and oversees the work of EPICA staff.
- Coordinates the work of Emory students chosen to serve as EPICA Fellow in D.C. Arranges briefings for students with policymakers on Capitol Hill.
- Contacts federal agencies (e.g., Department of Justice, Department of State, Bureau of Counterterrorism, etc.) to arrange briefings for students and oversees the monitoring of the Global Guidelines for Countering Antisemitism.
- Oversees the arrangement of overseas seminars and roundtable discussions for diplomats, journalists, foreign policy analysts and government officials to provide education on antisemitism.
- Manages all details of the planning process for these seminars and discussions and oversees the establishment of partnerships with international participants.
- Develops and maintains relationships with elected officials, journalists and government officials to support EPICA. Gathers data, prepares reports and analyzes results. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and eight years of public relations, program management, foreign affairs or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership to manage a program strongly preferred.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- The individual hired is expected to be based in Washington, DC and have extensive experience engaging senior level foreign officials and international organizations both in Washington, DC and abroad.
NOTE: Tasks related to this position can be performed remotely with only occasional visits to an Emory University location. Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may apply.
