Job Summary  | University Advancement is a rewarding place to work for those motivated to make a lasting impact on the campus, students, and programs at the University of Utah. The Student Success Advancement team at the University of Utah is seeking an innovative fundraising professional to secure funding for the main campus Student Success priorities, with a particular focus on securing funding for merit-based and need-based scholarships.  The desired candidate will have experience in relationship building, portfolio management, annual giving, and donor stewardship. Additionally, the candidate must possess the maturity, wisdom and collaborative skills necessary to gain the trust and confidence of university leadership across various departments.  This position will fundraise for all scholarships and programs that the Student Success Advancement team supports within the following academic units: Financial Aid & Scholarships, Student Affairs, Undergraduate Studies, Graduate Studies, Bennion Center, and Honors College.

Responsibilities  | Strive to meet university-wide advancement metrics, including 10-12 significant donor contacts per month, 24-48 new prospect qualifications annually, 20 gift solicitations annually, and an established annual fundraising goal of committed gifts set in collaboration with direct supervisor.
Maintain a portfolio of leadership and major gift donors. Research potential donors and proactively initiate contact with alumni, friends, foundations, and corporations who may have little to no prior relationship with the University. Make direct solicitations through face-to-face interactions, cold calls, emails, and grant proposals on behalf of the University. This role requires comfort with frequent unsolicited outreach and the ability to build relationships from initial contact through cultivation to solicitation, ensuring all fundraising efforts remain donor centric.
Adhere to University’s prospect management standards, track donor relationships and file contact reports. 
Modeling the One U mission, collaborating closely with campus partners to maintain a culture of trust with the various departments, centers, and organizations this team supports.
Support the efforts of the entire donor engagement process including annual giving efforts and stewardship campaigns as assigned.
Work in partnership with associate directors, marketing and communications director, and other university staff to understand priorities, projects and goals.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (One year of education is equivalent to two years of experience). Two years of related experience.

Preferences  | Two years or more of frontline fundraising experience Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
