Description
As a Digital Production Program Manager, you will lead the optimization and innovation of our digital content production workflows. This role bridges strategy, technology, and customer experience—identifying process gaps, mapping digital authoring pipelines, integrating AI tools, and ensuring our teams are empowered to produce high-quality, scalable digital products with speed and precision.

Wayside Publishing is a progressive developer of world language programs, resources, and materials for middle and high schools across the United States. We partner with educators to craft transformative texts and digital tools that engage students and foster successful communication and understanding across cultures.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Map and analyze digital authoring and production workflows, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to product, software engineering, content, and PMO, to deliver efficient and scalable content creation processes.
  • Integrate AI tools and intelligent automation into production pipelines to accelerate development and reduce manual effort.
  • Gather and synthesize customer insights to inform production strategy and ensure we’re addressing end-user pain points.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for digital production standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Lead or support implementation of new platforms, authoring tools, and workflow systems that enhance digital content delivery.
  • Measure and report on production efficiency and product readiness across teams and tools.
  • Advocate for the user experience, ensuring digital content delivery aligns with our quality, accessibility, and engagement standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • 5+ years in digital production, content authoring and operations, digital strategy, or product enablement roles.
  • Strong analytical and process-mapping skills, with experience improving or reengineering workflows.
  • Proficiency with AI-driven tools or platforms (e.g., generative AI, workflow automation, intelligent content platforms).
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally to understand and address customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in digital publishing, edtech, SaaS, or media.
  • Familiarity with digital authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, XML editors, content management systems).
  • Background in program management or change management initiatives.
