Title: Director of Sales, Heinemann (Midwest / Southeast Region-must live in one of the states listed below)

Purpose of the Role: The Director of Sales, Heinemann, is accountable for achieving targeted billings for the assigned territory through coaching, developing, and directing sales representatives within the assigned territory.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow pipeline for assigned territory, overseeing accuracy leading to strong projections and closing sales. 
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the assigned territory to stay abreast of states and districts' needs.
  • Responsible for meeting revenue goal for assigned territory. Partners with direct and independent representatives on creating effective sales strategies/action plans.
  • Manages the activities of the assigned territory sales team. Conducts objective setting, midpoint and annual appraisal for direct sales representatives. Observes staff in field by attending sales calls and presentations. Responsible for developing, coaching, and motivating sales team in the assigned territory. Conducts regular team calls and 1:1 sessions with representative in the assigned territory.
  • Monitors expenses of direct sales representatives. Approves direct sales representatives' expense reports.
  • Promotes a positive relationship and collaboration between sales and internal teams. Frequently communicates and collaborates as part of the Sales Leadership team.
  • Collaborates with other managers and teams including, but not limited to Marketing, Sales Enablement, National Content Specialists, and Sales Analysts.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's desirable)
  • 7-10 years sales experience with a proven track record in meeting quota
  • 3-5 years management experience
  • Educational sales and teaching experience are desirable
  • Knowledge of literacy and math curriculum and/or edtech tools (preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Teams, Zoom
  • Proficient in Salesforce
  • Requires up to 40-50% driving and air travel
  • Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license required
 
Territory: Midwest / Southwest Region (must live in one of the following states) - FL, GA, AL, TN, KY, OH, WI, IL, MI, IN, NC, SC

Salary Range - $120,000 to $125,000 + commission structure.
