Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Director of Campus and Advancement Marketing will work with the Associate Vice President of University Communications and Marketing to support the needs of Dayton and Lake campuses and the Division of Advancement in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communications plans. The Director will serve as a liaison to senior leadership and designated comm coordinators within the units. This role will provide expertise to those stakeholders on all aspects of marketing in support of their goals and objectives along with a strong focus on tying initiatives to the overarching university goals and strategic plan.This includes extensive collaboration on the University’s campaign communication plans and other needs in support of the university’s short- and long-term fundraising strategies plus extensive coordination with Enrollment Management’s recruitment and retention marketing plans. The position will manage and coordinate the development of compelling, innovative and results oriented materials, as well as monitor key industry metrics to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of the content produced. The Director will manage a staff of professional employees and student workers and collaborate with the University Communications and Marketing leadership team to ensure coverage of campus and Advancement priorities within the broader institutional goals and priorities as well as ensure alignment in messaging and brand standards. This role collaborates extensively with outside firms, freelance support, and internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications 
5 + years progressive experience in marketing or communications; Bachelor’s degree. Creative thinker in developing innovative ideas and solutions to marketing communication challenges. Experience leading a team Ability and experience to think strategically – both long and short term. Self-starter with strong project management, problem solving, organizational and detail-oriented skills who can inspire and direct others in their work. Proven ability to shepherd projects from concept to completion, enlisting the support and enthusiasm of others in the process. Written communication and strong diplomatic skills are required as well as the ability to work with senior administration. Must be deadline oriented and able to manage multiple projects.
