How can you make an impact?
We are seeking an experienced Director, Content Strategy & Development to drive strategy, operational excellence, and innovation in content development and operations for Sharpen, our innovative educational app. The role will be instrumental in leading content systems and workflows, incorporating AI and cutting-edge tools to optimize efficiency and scalability. As a change leader, this individual will foster a culture of continuous improvement, adaptability, and innovation to meet evolving market needs and revolutionize education.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and own the content roadmap to build new learning resources, revise and improve existing resources, and expand resource types for new markets.
- Lead the Sharpen content vision from ideation to execution, ensuring all content meets McGraw Hill standards for accuracy, accessibility, and engagement.
- Forecast investment needs, build and manage large (multi-million) plant budget, and execute strategic cost-efficient and effective spending.
- Lead the adoption and development of Gen AI technologies to enhance content creation, publishing workflows, and accessibility solutions, driving efficiency and reducing time to market.
- Collaborate with the Sharpen Product, Marketing, and Engineering leads to align overall Sharpen strategy with business objectives.
- Synthesize and translate insights from analytics and reports into efficient content revisions and enhancements, identifying gaps in content coverage and content performance.
- Provide decision support to executive stakeholders to define resources and investment needs.
- Recruit, manage, and develop a best-in-class team of content developers and subject matter experts.
What you bring:
- 10+ years of applicable experience.
- Deep understanding of the content development life cycle
- Learning design background
- An understanding of student learning needs and expectations
- Background in instructional design practices
- Experience with or deep knowledge of generative AI for content development
- Strong leader with experience hiring and managing remote teams and negotiating vendor agreements
- Proven track record of driving quality and efficiency optimizations
- Strong project management and budget management skills
- Highly analytical, strategic and creative thinker with strong business judgment
- Proven ability to drive business insights and operational improvement in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to executive leadership

The pay range for this position is between $90,000-$150,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Click
