The Director of Curriculum Design oversees strategic development, implementation, and delivery of the vertical-specific roadmap, develops systems to support the team, and uses industry knowledge and instructional design/adult learning principles to support vertical-specific product development in collaboration with Content Operations and Product Management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
•    Perform basic management/leadership responsibilities for direct reports (e.g., 1-1 meetings, performance reviews, coaching, professional development, hiring, onboarding).
•    Manage and track capacity, resource needs, and budgets for vertical roadmap, identify risks, and work with stakeholders to ensure delivery of roadmap.
•    Implement short- and long-term strategic plans for product development and library maintenance based on identified priorities and business needs in collaboration with VP of Curriculum Design.
•    Collaborate with Product Management on vertical strategy related to roadmap and content development, and provide input, based on industry and market knowledge.
•    Develop and oversee vertical CD and writing team and work with VP of Curriculum Design to implement plans for team development including resources, professional development, career paths, etc.
•    Disseminate information across the team (e.g., key updates with CDs, roadmap status and risks with VP and PM) and during team meetings.
•    Review established industry-specific and instructional design best practices and standards, NPS and learner feedback, and Sales, Client Care, and Voice of Customer feedback relevant to content creation and overall content development practices to identify trends and areas for potential writing upgrades and changes.
•    Other duties as assigned.

YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of related industry experience/credentialing
•    3+ years in leadership/management
•    5+ years in training development and/or delivery
•    7+ years in designated vertical market
•    Knowledge of leadership principles and ability to apply relevant principles to day-to-day interactions with direct reports and other key team members.
•    Ability to manage and prioritize roadmap development at both a macro and micro level.
•    Ability to analyze data (identify problems), think critically (account for all relevant factors), and problem-solve (propose solutions) at both a macro and micro level.
•    Ability to determine an appropriate implementation plan based on strategic initiatives, plans, and goals.
•    Knowledge of industry-specific and instructional design best practices and standards and overall content development practices.
•    Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with direct reports, team members, and stakeholders.
•    Ability to remain calm and diplomatic, have difficult conversations, and resolve conflicts.
•    Ability to analyze systems/processes and team needs to determine short- and long-term opportunities for improvement.
