Begin, an early learning company with brands including HOMER, codeSpark, and Little Passports has a new opportunity for a Director of Content Strategy to join our growing team! This role will report to our New York office in a hybrid capacity or can be remote-based in select US locations*.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand Marketing, the Director of Content Strategy will own Begin’s content strategy to bolster brand and business goals––driving awareness, increasing engagement, building community, and supporting conversion. This critical role requires a creative and imaginative individual who can concept and produce original, provocative, engaging content across owned, earned, and paid channels. Most importantly, you will create stories that bring the Begin brand and our mission to life. Ideal candidates are writers at their core and have experience with SEO and building content across, Blog, CRM, Social Media, and paid experiences.    

You will:

  • Evolve and execute Begin’s content strategy to drive brand and business goals
  • Develop and drive quarterly content and messaging plan based on consumer insights, target personas, seasonal themes, and tentpole moments. 
  • Develop and manage the integrated content calendar that coordinates and guides channel content distribution (Blog, Social, CRM, Influencer) with understanding of consumer personas, best message, and content for each channel.
  • Drive the process for content creation, distribution, and maintenance working with appropriate cross-functional teams including product, learning team, creative, and marketing channel leads.
  • Lead and execute our blog strategy to drive organic traffic and leads, collaborating closely with our SEO agency to identify opportunities for content optimization and keyword targeting
  • Recruit and manage a team of freelance writers to support the development of editorial and SEO-based blog content 
  • Partner with CRM & CVR team to optimize blog lead capture and conversion 
  • Develop and report on SEO and lead generation goals. 
  • Regularly analyze and report on content performance against key KPIs 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, emerging technologies, and content marketing trends to continuously innovate, differentiate, and keep Begin Learning's content offerings at the forefront of industry trends.

Must Haves:

  • 8+ years experience as a content strategist
  • Excellent communication, editing/proofreading, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices including content categorization and structure, content development, distribution, and measurement 
  • Ability to craft compelling messaging for different audiences across different mediums including email, blog, and social media
  • Digital-first writing style that understands how to stand out on social platforms - specifically Instagram & TikTok
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with an ability to manage priorities from a multitude of stakeholders in a multi-functional environment
  • Passion for the children’s education space
  • Experience managing agencies and outside content creators
  • Passionate about understanding consumer needs, and staying ahead of the curve on new strategies and channels for reaching our audiences

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience writing for the parent audience at a consumer brand 
  • Experience with membership-based business models

This role is not eligible for CO state.

Salary MIN: $145,000 MAX: $165,000. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location and other relevant factors. We're able to answer any additional questions you may have as you move through the interview process.

The pay range for this role is:

140,000 - 165,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
