Director of Customer Development Full Description

Director of Customer Development
Civitas Learning is looking for a highly professional and confident individual to join our Customer Development team. As a Director of Customer Development, you will manage a portfolio of assigned accounts, build long-term advisor relationships with our customers, and successfully retain and expand their investment in Civitas Learning products and services. While not on the sales team, you will be responsible for all growth opportunities within your assigned accounts and must be comfortable selling the value of Civitas Learning, including the value of Civitas Learning’s Strategic Services portfolio, at all times.

You will liaise with cross-functional internal teams to manage the entire customer experience, provide strategic guidance around adoption, increase the level of engagement across the institution, and ultimately ensure the customer is maximizing their ROI with Civitas products and services.

What you will do as a Director of Customer Development:
Establish Relationships: Identify, engage, and nurture President/Provost/C-level relationships built on trust. Develop customer champions and identify key stakeholders across the institution.
Serve as a Strategic Partner: Become the customer’s strategic advisor who understands their challenges at different levels and can communicate the positive outcomes of working with Civitas Learning.
Deliver Strategic Services: Directors of Customer Development may be responsible for delivering some or all of Civitas Learning’s Strategic Services within their portfolio accounts, as assigned.
This may include facilitating institutional change management conversations, coordinating robust, competency-based training and enablement sessions, compiling and presenting ROI analyses, delivering role-specific data insights to campus stakeholders, and supporting institutions with accreditation documentation, compliance needs, and performance-based funding alignment. Directors will partner closely with Senior Directors and cross-functional teams to plan, scope, and execute service delivery.
Drive Retention: Negotiate renewal contracts that maximize growth and term length within accounts, including upsells and highly qualified cross-sell opportunities.
Own the Success Plan: Identify strategic goals tied to student outcomes based on customer feedback and account knowledge. Create a plan that is grounded in concrete actions and aligned to Civitas Learning’s Student Impact Platform and services. Success Planning is measured by relationship health, maximized customer ROI, and successful contract renewal.
Manage CRM and Account Data: Manage and track KPIs and all contract data in Salesforce (SFDC), including deal stages, renewal and cross-sell/upsell commitments, ACV, and close dates.
Identify Advocacy Opportunities: Identify customers who have great success stories and potential as references for RFPs, sales team needs, and conference speaking opportunities.
