Job Summary | The Director of Digital Strategy supports the Division of Enrollment Management by leading digital initiatives that drive recruitment, enrollment, and student success. This role develops and implements digital strategies, oversees enrollment web content and user experience (UX), builds and optimizes Slate portals, and manages CRM-driven communications and digital advertising campaigns. The Director supervises a team responsible for web, email, and digital advertising functions, ensuring an integrated and student-centereddigital presence. The annual salary for this position ranges from $$98,100 to $114,499. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Digital Strategy & Innovation Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy that supports enrollment growth and student success. Monitor and assess industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually advance UTA’s digital presence. Implement data-driven improvements to digital touchpoints that streamline the prospective student journey. Oversee digital advertising initiatives that support recruitment and retention. Ensure campaigns are optimized for reach, relevance, and ROI. Collaborate with admissions teams to integrate organic and paid media into cohesive digital campaigns.
Web & UX Oversight Oversee development, maintenance, and optimization of enrollment-related web content. Ensure accuracy, accessibility, and strong UX design across digital platforms. Partner with enrollment leadership, Marketing, Messaging and Engagement, Office of Information Technology, and academic units to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
CRM & Slate Portal Development Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Slate portals to improve personalization, self-service options, and engagement. Support the development of automated and segmented communications within the CRM to drive targeted outreach and follow-up.
Team Leadership & Development Manage and mentor a digital team including web, email, and advertising leads. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and data-informed culture. Provide professional development opportunities and encourage continuous learning.
Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, web design, information technology, or a related field. Five (5) years of professional experience in digital marketing, web/UX, CRM systems, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and knowledge of basic web
development (HTML, CSS).
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in marketing, communications, web design, information technology, or a related field. Seven (7) years of professional experience in digital marketing, web/UX, CRM systems, or related area. Experience with Slate or another CRM used in higher education. Experience working in higher education marketing, admissions, or enrollment management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Familiarity with digital accessibility standards and guidelines (ADA, WCAG). Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Familiarity with SEO/SEM strategies, Google Analytics, and paid digital advertising
platforms. Knowledge of UX design principles and tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
