Director of Marketing and Outreach Full Description

Posting Title: Director of Marketing and Outreach 

Overview: 
The School of Nursing (CSON) has educational, research, and service missions. The CSON provides nursing education programs at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels to a diverse student body. 
The CSON conducts research related to nursing and health care via formal academic programs, service learning opportunities, and outreach activities to the community.
 
The Director of Marketing reports to the dean and serves as the primary ambassador for the Conway  School of Nursing, providing high-touch engagement with prospective students and families, including individualized tours of the nursing facilities and program-specific guidance. 

The role collaborates closely with Undergraduate Admission, the Office of Graduate Admission, and the University’s central marketing team to ensure aligned and effective recruitment strategies for both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. 
This person is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the  Conway School of Nursing marketing, branding, and communications strategies. 
 
This position oversees the design and distribution of digital and print marketing, social media, website management, and all recruiting communications to achieve undergraduate and graduate education enrollment goals. 

The Director serves as the primary point of contact for all school marketing efforts,  selects, trains, and manages student workers, and collaborates with undergraduate and graduate staff of the  School of Nursing. 

Travels to conferences and recruitment events locally and nationally to present and disseminate information on the CSON academic programs.
 
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $88,000 to $95,000

 Responsibilities: 
A. Strategic Marketing and Brand Management
  1. Oversee, develop, and implement comprehensive branding and marketing strategies that align with the Conway School of Nursing’s mission and enrollment goals for all CSON undergraduate and graduate programs
  2. Ensure consistent and accurate messaging across all platforms, materials, and audiences in accordance with University brand standards.
  3. Communicate and promote the School’s history, mission, and values through print, digital, and media channels.
  4. Oversee the creative development of marketing collateral, advertising campaigns, and other promotional materials.
  5. Manage the productivity and effectiveness of all marketing initiatives; assess ROI and make data-informed improvements.
 
B. Digital Media and Communication
  1. Develop and manage content for the School’s website, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and engagement.
  2. Lead and execute social media strategy to grow online visibility, community engagement, and reputation.
  3. Coordinate weekly digital communications, newsletters, and news releases for internal and external audiences.
  4. Partner with University Communications and Enrollment Management to increase applications and enrollments across the Conway School of Nursing.
 
C. Recruitment, Marketing, and Enrollment Growth
  1. Develop and execute recruitment marketing campaigns to achieve undergraduate, graduate, and executive education enrollment targets.
  2. Provides enthusiastic tours of the School of Nursing building with the ability to speak to: the use of simulation and collaborative learning approaches used in the school; the types of undergraduate and graduate programs offered and types of employment associated with these programs.
  3. Collaborate with school academic program leadership to ensure that all information about academic programs and plans of study on the school website, electronic and paper materials are accurate and up to date for external audiences and to communicate program information to currently enrolled students.
  4. Collaborate with academic program directors and the alumni office to develop and maintain a database on the employment and contact information for graduates from the last 5 years as potential students in the graduate programs, and to track employment data for accreditation purposes
  5. Analyze enrollment data at schools of nursing nationally, locally, and within Catholic Universities and determine market trends to inform marketing strategy and budget allocation.
  6. Collaborate with the Dean, Vice Dean, and Executive Director for Strategic Partnerships and Professional Programs to develop campaigns targeting professional staff and nurses in local hospitals and healthcare settings, regarding career advancement through the school academic programs.

D. Leadership and Operational Management
  1. Supervise student workers and student volunteers, including hiring, training, and coaching their efforts in marketing and recruitment of Conway School of Nursing
  2. Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies for advertising, design, and media contracts.
  3. Manages all external recruitment partnerships, including HOSA and similar organizations, to strengthen pipelines, expand visibility, and support enrollment and revenue growth.
  4. Collaborate with internal partners—including Admissions, Advancement, and Finance—to coordinate initiatives and ensure operational alignment.
  5. Provide marketing reports, presentations, and performance summaries to the Dean and leadership team, including yield rate, application and inquiry trends, conversion rates, enrollment growth indicators, partnership pipeline performance, marketing campaign analytics, and other key metrics that inform strategic decision-making
  6. Perform other related duties and external engagement activities that advance the mission of the School.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 to 5 years of experience managing marketing, communications, and recruiting initiatives at an institution of higher education.
