POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Indy Public School’s Director of Multilingual Learners works intensively with Directors of Multilingual Learners, School Leaders, Assistant School Leaders, academic team leaders, teachers, and students to support students at KIPP Indy. Reporting to the Managing Director of Multilingual Learners, the SD, ML will play a lead role in strengthening their academic skills, intellectual habits, and character traits needed to succeed in the nation’s most competitive colleges, universities, post-secondary programs, and careers.

KIPP Public Schools is a network of 279 schools with more than 16,000 educators and 210,000 students and alumni, including Indianapolis. KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth-grade students and has grown to serve 1,500 students across three schools. Of the students that attend KIPP Indy, 93% qualify for free and reduced lunch, 95% are African American or LatinX, 12% receive special education services, and 8% are designated as Emerging Bilinguals. Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee Compliance by ensuring processes for WIDA Screeners, ILP creation and implementation, parent notifications, etc.
  • Implement a procedure for the Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency COMP
  • Oversee school-level data collection and support desktop monitoring for audits and State/Federal Accountability Measures
  • Progress monitoring fidelity of ILP implementation and all goal structures 
  • Support Multilingual Learner programming, compliance, initiatives, and evaluations, through oversight, development, implementation monitoring, and communication
  • Foster collaboration and alignment between all stakeholders 
  • Create and lead professional development opportunities for ML and larger school teams to ensure best practices with content delivery and SIOP strategies
  • Lead IILP & Learning Connection processes (transfers, calendar, user support)
  • Coaching, managing, and completing evaluations for all direct reports
  • Maintain positive relationships with partnering agency
  • Create and manage daily TOR and state/local testing schedules
  • Maintain ML trackers and relevant SIS/PowerSchool data to ensure information accuracy and accessibility

QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Minimum 4 years of exemplary teaching experience with strong student achievement results
  • Minimum 2 years of exemplary, full-time teacher coaching and adult management experience
  • Minimum 2 years curriculum development and management
  • Hold current licensure in ENL/EL
  • Model of effective and high-quality instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to drive student success
  • Experience planning and leading engaging and effective professional development for adults
  • Experience in curriculum support, such as assessment writing and/or scope and sequence management
  • Strong project management skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator, who can work with internal and external stakeholders

Additional Information
COMPENSATION
Starting salary $72,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a highly competitive benefits package. Opportunities for performance-based bonuses are also available.
