Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | Business Affairs seeks a strategic and collaborative finance leader to oversee resource planning, budgeting, and performance management across a complex portfolio of auxiliary units to include one-card program, food services and bookstore. This role provides enterprise‑level financial leadership by aligning operating and capital resources with institutional priorities, delivering long‑range forecasting and scenario modeling, and advising senior leaders on risk, efficiency, and data‑informed decision‑making—including the responsible use of AI. The position manages budget development, monitoring, compliance, and variance analysis; evaluates business cases and new initiatives; develops KPIs to strengthen accountability and transparency; and serves as a trusted advisor to campus and central partners. The successful candidate will lead and develop accounting and administrative staff, promote best practices in financial stewardship and internal controls, and support continuity of operations as an essential personnel role during institutional disruptions.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 5 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications | Significant progressive experience in financial management, budgeting, or resource planning within a complex organization. Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial analysis, and resource allocation. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, finance, or a related field. Experience in higher education, public sector, or similarly complex institutional environments. Experience with enterprise financial systems and data analytics tools. Proven ability to lead teams and partner effectively with senior leaders.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Mastery of principles, practices, theories, and terminology of accounting, auditing, banking, budgeting, and financial management, knowledge of office practices, and procedures. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts, analyze and interpret related data. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written documents. Strong computer accounting and database skills, including EXCEL, ACCESS, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Visio.

Align financial and operational resources with divisional strategic plans, institutional priorities, and service delivery goals. Provide long-range financial forecasting, scenario modeling, and resource impact analysis to support leadership decision-making. Advise senior leadership on resource allocation strategies, financial risks, and opportunities for efficiency using AI.
