POSITION SPECIFICS​

The Director of Strategic Resource Management and Financial Aid will play a key role in facilitating the financial aid and scholarship processes for student-athletes at Penn State University. This position is part of the Strategic Resource Management and Eligibility Division within the Athletic Compliance Office, working closely with the Office of Student Aid, the Office of the Bursar, and coaches and staff members within the athletics department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that student-athletes receive the financial aid resources they are eligible to receive while maintaining compliance with NCAA, Big Ten, and Penn State regulations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and manage scholarship paperwork for prospective and current student-athletes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation
  • Process scholarship cancellations, non-renewals, and reductions as needed, in line with policies and regulations
  • Act as a point of contact for coaches, student-athletes, and parents regarding student account and refund inquiries
  • Review student-athlete financial aid accounts and process scholarship stipends, ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations
  • Maintain squad lists for 31 varsity sports teams using data from the LionPath and ARMS compliance software
  • Review data flow between the Peoplesoft database and ARMS compliance software, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information
  • Generate reports and maintain records to ensure accurate financial aid awarding for student-athletes
  • Process SAF (Student-Athlete Fund) payments and reimbursements in SIMBA and Concur financial systems
  • Process endowment awards within the Penn State E-Steward system
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison to the Office of Student Aid and the Office of the Bursar
  • Serve as the primary compliance contact for various sport teams and carry-out specific day-to-day duties for those sports teams to ensure compliance with NCAA, Big Ten, and Penn State rules and regulations

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
