Job Summary/Basic Function | The Sales Center Director is responsible for overseeing the coordination of all operational and administrative aspects of the Alan E. Hall Center for Sales Excellence. Essential to success, a primary operational responsibility includes being a corporate liaison by conducting industry partnership development with a priority on establishing sponsorship funnels for continued sales center and program development for the Department of Professional Sales.
The sales center director is the key player in relationship management with our corporate partners and must be able to professionally cultivate new, high-value industry partnerships that align with our program’s objectives while continuing to care for existing partners.
The director will be responsible for working with the department chair of professional sales and faculty to elevate the WSU sales center brand by fully managing the Center’s website, social media channels, and planning and executing high-impact student and industry partner events.
Working in conjunction with department faculty and our industry advisory board, this position will assist faculty in addressing needs for the sales curriculum to ensure our students remain industry-ready. Administrative responsibilities involve program branding and marketing, event/competition management, budget management, and enhancing the student learning experience through partners and industry-relevant events and classroom experiences.
Additionally, the Center Director will prioritize strengthening operational infrastructure by providing support to staff and enhancing customer service for students. Building upon an esteemed Sales Center reputation, the Center Director’s priorities include nurturing a culture of focus and academic rigor, advocating student recruitment, and advancing accountability program innovation with a commitment to excellence. The Director will be responsible to supervise and manage the Sales Center Intern and Sales Center Student Ambassador program.
The center director must properly manage all of the following key stakeholders:
PS faculty PS students Local and national executive corporations PS Alumni Sales Partner Universities, University Sales Center Alliance (USCA), Sales Education Foundation
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00 with some evening and/or weekend work possible.
Required Qualifications | Required: B.S. degree in Professional Sales or related field. Three years of industry experience in a sales-related position.
Preferred Qualifications | Preferred: Expertise in the selling process and all other skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities in the job summary. An individual should be able to run the center, and manage all relationships and stakeholders associated with the sales center. Enhanced ability to work independently with little supervision. Comprehensive understanding, and healthy appreciation for corporate higher education and public/private partnerships. Strategic planning, project management, and change management ability. High-energy, motivation and enthusiasm coupled with a solutions-oriented mind set to challenges encountered. Prepared to conduct ancillary activities that support departmental programming. Experience with Marketing/Social/Website management
