THE ROLE
The Director, Program reports to the Senior Director, Program or the Managing Director, Program.  In this role, you will work directly with our clients to lead a portfolio of projects focused on the use of high-quality instructional materials to improve student learning as well as support the development of our service models and our business development efforts.  This role requires effective relationship development skills, superb project and people management, and the ability to coach leaders and facilitate adult learning for K - 12 educators.

A successful candidate will possess strong instructional leadership instincts, experience across content areas, and knowledge of college and career-ready standards and high-quality instructional materials.  This position can be based from a home office anywhere in the U.S. Depending on location, expected travel time is 20 - 30%.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery (70%)
  • Lead contracts with schools, districts, and states that improve instruction in core academic subjects and support student growth
  • Develop a vision and theory of action for achieving project goals with clients, with a focus on adopting or deepening use of high-quality instructional materials 
  • Create project plans characterized by actionable strategic timelines and manage work towards completing key benchmarks
  • Support school, district, and state leaders in managing change and adjusting course when needed
  • Facilitate adult learning experiences for school, district, and state leaders
  • Directly coach school or district leaders to build capacity and support implementation of high quality instructional materials or evidence-based instructional practices
  • Coordinate project logistics among SchoolKit team members, clients, and partner organizations as needed on projects 
Strategy and Service Development (15%)
  • Collaborate with teammates to create tools, techniques, and training to develop our internal capacity to deliver our services with integrity to our clients 
  • Support development of new services through sharing and learning from common challenges, best practices, and collaborating across teams
  • Contribute to our business development strategy for new and existing clients and partner with the President to grow and deepen existing relationships
Leadership and Management (15%) 
  • Build positive and collaborative relationships with clients, including state, district, and school leaders, and other project stakeholders
  • Manage project teams and coach staff to lead engagement with clients 

EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years of experience in the education sector with at least 3 years of this experience in a district or state-level leadership or school leadership role (principal equivalent, not coach or AP)
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and workstreams; experience with project management software is preferred, but not required. 
  • A successful track record of leading instructional initiatives in partnership with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with implementation of high-quality instructional materials aligned to college and career-ready standards
  • Knowledge of and experience providing recommendations on the full range of decisions that leaders can make at the school level to improve instruction
  • Knowledge of best practices and experience coaching instructional leaders
  • A bachelor’s degree, Masters degree in education or related field preferred

COMPENSATION
Our compensation philosophy is centered on supporting your overall well-being—professionally, personally, and financially.

The starting salary band for this position will be between $120,000 - $130,000 and is highly dependent on experience. Salaries are reviewed annually and adjusted based on cost-of-living adjustments. SchoolKit also offers employees an annual discretionary bonus.
