Position Overview
The Early Literacy Trainer is instrumental in delivering high quality trainings and fostering meaningful connections within our Early Literacy Certification community. They infuse enthusiasm into our Hub forums, driving brand loyalty and excitement while championing our mission. Reporting to the PD Teacher Membership Plus Manager, this individual will help build confident, competent early literacy educators. This role will work closely with the education, professional development, and memberships teams within the organization. This is a fully remote contract role requiring a commitment of 20-40 hours per week, including evening and occasional weekends.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Daily Engagement: Create an atmosphere of encouragement and interaction within the Early Literacy Certification community, ensuring lively and consistent participation.
  • Facilitate Growth: Lead engaging sessions that empower educators to maximize their potential.
  • Vibrant Training Delivery: Bring our Teaching Strategies (TS) products and early literacy strategies to life through daily dynamic live trainings
  • Active Forum Support: Be the driving force behind various forums in the Hub, actively participating by responding to posts and posting engaging content
  • Community Interaction: Initiate conversations, respond to inquiries, and build connections within the Early Literacy Certification community, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Expert Support: Provide valuable assistance by supporting the "Ask the Literacy Expert" email inbox and facilitating Early Literacy Certification Office Hours weekly and Welcome Receptions monthly, ensuring our community feels heard and supported.
  • Timely Reporting and Data Management: Creating and managing Science of Reading Courses and Early Literacy Certification classes, maintain attendance records, complete flash reports and upload Zoom reports after trainings to ensure documentation, accessibility, and prompt availability of data for review and analysis.
    • Stay up to date on current Science of Reading research, early education best practices, and Teaching Strategies solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in early childhood education or related field; master's preferred
  • Holds a current Early Literacy Certificate (ie, LETRS, Wilson, etc) and/or a degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering effective, engaging professional development for early educators, preferably virtual
  • Experience establishing and communicating performance and quality metrics aligned with organizational goals
  • Self-directed and strong drive for success
  • Takes responsibility for work and has a strong sense of project/work management
  • Ability to research, listen, and identify client needs based on assessment conversations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to learn new technology applications
  • Working knowledge of, or experience in, the early childhood field
  • Working knowledge of Teaching Strategies products
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.
