Job Description 
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Reynolds Community College is seeking a dynamic, student-centered nursing educator to serve as Full-Time Faculty / Earn to Learn and Clinical Coordinator within the School of Health Professions. This position provides instructional and program coordination leadership, with the first-year focus dedicated to implementation and management of the Earn to Learn (ETL) Scholars Program—a unique workforce development and clinical immersion partnership.

Following the first year, this position will transition to include both teaching and clinical coordination responsibilities within the college’s nursing programs. The faculty member will play a vital role in supporting student success, maintaining strong clinical partnerships, and ensuring the academic integrity and excellence of the nursing programs.

Primary Responsibilities

Year 1: Earn to Learn (ETL) Coordinator Oversee ETL Phase I (Patient Care Tech) and Phase II (Immersive Clinical Experience). Co-lead the ETL Advisory Group with the Reynolds Nursing Coordinator, including meeting planning, agenda preparation, and communications. Establish and sustain relationships with nurse mentors, preceptors, and clinical partners to enhance ETL Scholar experiences. Coordinate clinical placement, evaluation, and communication with institutional and external stakeholders. Collaborate with Institutional Research and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on program evaluation and data reporting. Serve as liaison between Reynolds and partner institutions to ensure compliance, quality, and continuous improvement of the ETL Scholars Program. As needed, provide instruction in clinical or laboratory settings to fulfill required faculty load (typically 15 credits per semester).
Years 2 and Beyond: Teaching and Clinical Coordination

Teaching Deliver engaging and effective instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings. Develop and evaluate course content, student assessments, and clinical learning outcomes. Integrate innovative teaching strategies and technologies to enhance learning. Participate in curriculum design, review, and program evaluation activities. Clinical Coordination Identify, evaluate, and secure clinical sites and preceptors for student placement. Develop and maintain the master clinical schedule and related logistics. Collaborate with faculty and healthcare partners to ensure quality and compliance of clinical experiences. Manage student clinical records and health compliance documentation. Resolve clinical placement or performance issues in coordination with program leadership. Institutional Responsibility, Scholarship, and Service Advise and mentor nursing students in accordance with college and VCCS policies. Engage in ongoing professional development and scholarly activity. Participate in program and college committees, accreditation activities, and continuous improvement processes. Contribute to program evaluation, admission, and retention initiatives.
Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Required Qualifications Current unrestricted license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time employment in nursing or equivalent within the past five (5) years. Graduate degree, preferably in nursing; or a baccalaureate degree with active enrollment in a graduate program in nursing.

Minimum of two (2) years of recent teaching experience in a nursing program. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both didactic and clinical settings. Education or training in principles of teaching and learning. Proficiency in the use of instructional technology and innovative teaching strategies. Understanding of concept-based teaching principles. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Experience working with diverse student populations in an urban environment. Experience in community, wellness/illness, chronic care, and geriatric nursing. Proven ability to manage complex scheduling and administrative tasks.
