Education Program Specialist Full Description

This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education (AESE) in the College of Agricultural Sciences seeks a self-directed, organized Education Program Specialist to support the AgWorks Agricultural Workforce Development Initiative, a large, externally funded Penn State Extension project focused on strengthening agricultural workforce recruitment, hiring, and retention across Pennsylvania. The person in this position will provide professional-level program coordination and implementation support for educational programming serving farmers, agribusiness owners, agricultural stakeholders, and workforce development professionals.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating project activities and timelines.
  • Organizing and supporting webinars, training sessions, and educational events.
  • Assisting with outreach and engagement with Extension educators, agricultural stakeholders, and project partners.
  • Supporting educational presentations.
  • Coordinating communication with consultants and collaborators.
  • Collecting program evaluation data.
  • Maintaining project documentation and participation records.
  • Assisting with preparation of grant reports and project updates.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Cvent, Salesforce, Kaltura, Qualtrics, and SPSS or R software is required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred:
  • Experience in extension program design and development is preferred.
This is a limited term position supported by external grant funding through May 31, 2027, located at Penn State's University Park campus.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
