POSITION SPECIFICS
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for managing and advancing Penn State Berks Continuing Education programs, including youth summer camps, professional, workforce and community-focused offerings. The role involves researching, planning, coordinating, and executing public open-enrollment programs across a variety of topic areas in response to campus and community needs. The Program Specialist works with a high degree of independence while collaborating closely with internal partners to ensure high-quality, impactful learning experiences.

As a core member of the Continuing Education team, the Program Specialist oversees a portfolio of programs from concept through completion. This position serves as the central coordinator—managing program development, budgeting, marketing support, registration setup, instructor relations, engaging with prospective and current continuing education students, contracts, logistics, on-site or virtual delivery, managing and updating student records, and program evaluation.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed bilingual English/Spanish professional with demonstrated skills in program or project management, sales or marketing with strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail who thrives in a collaborative environment and is able to balance multiple programs with varying goals, audiences, and operational needs. This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
