Description of Work  | The Education Specialist works in the High Schools within the Lincoln Metro area to support students within the TRIO Upward Bound program.

As an Education Specialist, you will: Formulate and implement an educational plan that addresses each participant’s individualized academic, educational, and leadership needs and interests Provide academic advising and instructional support that enables participants to be retained with the program Develop and implement college preparatory activities and programs Actively assist in the development and implementation of the Upward Bound summer program at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln Assist program participants with Post Secondary Pathway planning

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications  | Master’s degree Fluent in a second language other than English. Demonstrate ability to communicate with high school aged youth Experience in working with school staff, and parents/ guardians. Experience in assessing student needs. Experience working with TRIO programs.
