The EHR Training Specialist is a knowledgeable and dynamic trainer who will provide training and support to clinical and non-clinical staff in the use of athena Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Practice Management system. The EHR Training Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging, role-based training sessions, creating instructional materials, and supporting users during athenanet go-live events and system upgrades.

Responsibilities

Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning training for clinical and administrative staff on EHR use.
Customize training programs based on specific roles (e.g., physicians, nurses, front-desk staff). Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and ongoing support.
Collaborate with functional areas such as revenue cycle management and clinical operations to create and distribute training materials regarding athena, updates, and common problem areas
Iterate training agendas and plans to keep updated and to improve over time
Maintain knowledge of athena EHR system changes and healthcare regulatory requirements
Plan and communicate training logistics to ensure alignment with practice being trained.
Participate in testing and validating EHR workflows and enhancements prior to deployment.
Follow all applicable federal/state regulations with respect to Confidentiality and HIPAA, among others.
Establish working relationships and collaborate with office staff.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Education, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years experience with an EHR system, athena strongly preferred
Prior experience delivering staff training, remotely or in person.
Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
Strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
Self-motivated and self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision
Flexibility to work off-hours during go-lives.
Valid driver’s license and reliable insured automobile required. Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time.
