LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is a high-growth renewable energy company forging a sustainable future through integrity, innovation, and positive impact. We own and operate 30 large wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States, totaling over 3 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity.

LRE has an ambitious goal of 10GW of operating assets by 2028 and are developing and contracting an increasing pipeline of new projects every year. Job Summary
The Electrical Training Specialist will coordinate with affected O&M personnel to meet and maintain all their electrical-related training needs. Responsibilities will include management of LRE’s QEW (Qualified Electrical Worker) program, tracking and maintaining training programs and records, developing and leading classroom training, overseeing training initiatives and other tasks as required. As a leader, the Electrical 
Training Specialist will be responsible for ensuring LRE’s highest standards for electrical training, culture and policies are met and adhered to.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop new electrical training presentations as needed for all O&M employees and leadership.
  • Facilitates training initiatives and ensure quality training is conducted.
  • Develops and trains employees in operations, safety, and company policies and practices following manuals, specifications, prints, and LRE standards.
  • Writes training products, including outline, text, handouts, and examinations as needed.
  • Designs exercises and training practicums, applying knowledge of electronics and mechanics, following machine, equipment, and tooling manuals.
  • Audits work in progress, work preparation and paperwork to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures.
  • Review and verify electrical safe work procedures as developed by engineering as SME and approve release.
  • Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lectures, simulations, and videos.
  • Collects data for, creates, and modifies curriculum for diverse types of audiences and learning delivery methods.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of examination and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications to include but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, WorkDay, and SharePoint
  • Use various sources to document training, promote learning, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training through employee work-related performance assessments.
  • Recommend and assist with the modification of training materials based on observed knowledge gaps and evolving industry standards.
  • Stay abreast of process and policy changes that affect LRE employees.
  • Identify curriculum errors, areas of improvement and propose document changes.
  • Meet regularly with LRE O&M Regional Directors, Site Leads and EHS+QT team members to share best practices and ensure alignment between the training programs and overall LRE vision.
  • Work closely with the Plant Managers and stakeholders to support training requests.
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of our operations and maintenance program and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements that increase field safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Must be able to travel (minimum 2-weeks per month) to remote project sites to provide training and perform skill assessments
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a clean MVR check

Qualifications:
  • AA in Electrical Technology or BS in Electrical Engineering
  • NFPA 70E Trainer (Preferred)
  • Prior experience as a trainer or preferred similar position
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience working with high, medium, and low voltage power generation systems in a capacity that may include design, installation, operation, maintenance, or any combination thereof
  • Experience managing or knowledge of a QEW (Qualified Electrical Worker) program.
  • Experience with solar and battery energy storage systems (Preferred)
  • Experience developing training materials
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight
  • Must be able to travel (minimum 2-weeks per month) to remote project sites to provide training and perform skill assessments
  • Deliver hands-on, instructor-led, and virtual training sessions for groups and new hires and existing employees.
  • Perform on-site employee skill assessments for task specific qualification.
  • Test trainees to measure progress, evaluate hands on training and provide ongoing training recommendations.
  • Support the development of new training content based on experience and/or 3rd party training.
