Taking place in schools and rooted in Scholastic’s greater mission to use the power of books for the betterment of all kids, Book Fairs and Book Clubs provide access to books; and paths to discovery.

We are seeking an Sr. Email Marketing Manager to lead the development, execution, and optimization of data-driven digital campaigns that boost engagement and drive sales for Book Fairs, while also supporting prospecting initiatives for Book Clubs. This role is integral to sales enablement and works in close partnership with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing Strategy, Consumer Insights, Creative, and Project Management. Reporting to the Senior Director of Email Marketing/CRM, the Email Marketing Manager will play a key role in driving growth strategies for Book Fairs and expanding the customer base for Book Clubs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Strategy & Execution
● Partner with the Director of Growth Marketing and Senior Director of Email Marketing/CRM to lead the end-to-end development of multi-channel email marketing campaigns for Book Fairs.
● Create and implement data-driven, multi-touch campaigns to drive customer acquisition and retention.
● Develop clear, actionable briefs outlining communication goals, target audience, distribution channels, and KPIs.
● Ensure strategic alignment by effectively communicating campaign objectives to stakeholders.

Prospecting & Sales Enablement
● Lead prospecting efforts in partnership with Sales to generate leads and secure new Book Fairs.
● Develop and refine sales enablement materials, including training guides, Sales Force email templates, and sales narratives.
● Leverage customer personas and sales priorities to create targeted outreach strategies.
● Refine CRM strategies to enhance retention, repeat purchases, and lifetime value.
● Partner with the Director of Growth and Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Book Clubs to support Book Clubs email prospecting.

Performance Optimization & Process Improvement
● Analyze campaign performance, share insights, and optimize strategies for continuous improvement.
● Implement smart workflows to streamline marketing execution.
● Monitor market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to keep Book Fairs’ strategies competitive.
● Drive ongoing A/B testing and experimentation to optimize engagement and conversion.
● Manage marketing budgets to ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
● Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture.

Qualifications

● 7+ years managing email marketing campaigns
● Proven experience in growth marketing, performance optimization, and sales enablement.
● Strong analytical skills with expertise in A/B testing, web analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), and CRM/CDP platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent).
● Expertise in conversion rate optimization (CRO), marketing automation, and customer journey mapping.
● Experience with SEO, SEM, paid media, and personalization strategies for customer engagement.
● Exceptional communication, project management, and collaboration skills.
● Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects effectively.
● Passion for kids, reading, and literacy, with enthusiasm for creating engaging experiences.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 annually.
