NC State University is hiring an Embedded Counselor - Scholars to provide individual and group counseling, outreach, and consultation services to students, faculty, and staff within an academic college. The counselor will deliver assessments, crisis and developmental counseling, outreach programs, and administrative duties while building relationships with the college community to address unique student needs.

Highlights
  • Provide individual and group counseling including academic, vocational, and psychological assessments.
  • Deliver developmental, crisis, couples counseling, and evaluations for student withdrawals.
  • Develop and participate in outreach programming and hold "lets talk" drop-in spaces.
  • Consult with faculty, staff, parents, and others regarding student mental health concerns.
  • Maintain after-hours "on call" duties and possible evening office hours.
  • Assist with supervision/training of graduate students and conduct program evaluations.
  • Required Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, clinical social work or related field; doctorate preferred.
  • Must obtain/maintain appropriate licensure according to North Carolina laws.
  • Preferred experience with electronic records (Titanium), risk assessment, university counseling centers, and clinical supervision.
  • Part of NC State’s Counseling Services department, supporting student mental and emotional well-being with culturally informed and evidence-based approaches.
