Employer Engagement Administrator Full Description

Grand Canyon University! One of Arizona's leading institutions of higher learning. Located in the Valley of the Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. GCU is an institutionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.
The Employer Engagement Administrator is responsible for managing the programmatic aspects of the employer engagement operations which are to identify and meet the employer development and engagement needs of GCU by working extensively with employers as well as career services colleagues, faculty, and key campus stakeholders. The administrator should identify employer needs and execute appropriate engagement activities while growing job/internship opportunities for GCU students and alumni.
What you will do: 
  • Executes an annual plan for both in- and out-of-state industry engagement to build and nurture deeper relationships with current and prospective employers and business representatives to gain industry understanding, help companies join the Employer Network including education on best-in-class organizational practices, and connect with university career events with the goal of hiring GCU students.
  • Attain approved target metrics of employer recruiting initiatives, follow up with companies on hiring outcomes, and document communications with employers on levels of engagement.
  • Partners with Career Services colleagues, Colleges, GCU/GCE departments, and other stakeholders to execute industry-specific career exploration and/or employment-driven activities and events including, but not limited to, career panel discussions, site visits, topical initiatives, and events granting student access to industry. Collaborative efforts may also include engaging with departments to schedule volunteer service hours and coordinating support.
  • Participates in relationship building and education awareness with the colleges and other student-facing departments to build their understanding to assist students in securing appropriate internship and work experience leading to employment or graduate school.
  • Stay current on workforce/career trends across industries via involvement with city, county, state, and national organizations and/or coalitions to provide informational updates to GCU leadership, colleges, and stakeholders.
  • Utilize department systems to build and review reports to comprehend and share information across the university about employer engagement activity, trends and to connect to the greater University industry ecosystem.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the goals and objectives of the department and University.
What you will need: 
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in higher education career advising or a related field with proven ability to implement and manage programs that support student success.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours as needed for event support, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Must pass pre-employment background investigations.
  • Demonstrate through appropriate behavior, a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
