Advertised Job Summary  | The Employer Outreach Specialist plays a key role in expanding and deepening relationships between the University of South Carolina and employers across a range of industries. This position supports strategic outreach, builds partnerships that enhance student career opportunities, and ensures a high-quality experience for employers engaging with the USC Career Center.

Duties - Employer outreach and engagement – Proactively identifies and connects with employers aligned with USC’s academic programs and student interests through targeted outreach via email, LinkedIn, virtual meetings, and in-person connections. Employer Consultation and Support – Serves as a trusted advisor to employers, providing one-on-one consultations and group webinars on how to effectively engage with USC students and academic departments. Relationship Management – Cultivates and sustains strong, year-round relationships with employers by offering exceptional customer service and connecting them with relevant resources. Career Center Support – Actively supports Career Center programs and events, including career fairs and others. Approves employer accounts and job postings on Handshake and supports employers throughout the recruiting process. Data and Assessment – Tracks and analyzes employer engagement metrics, outreach activity, and consultation outcomes. Prepares regular reports that inform strategic planning and demonstrate impact. Monitors trends in employer hiring behavior to support continuous improvement of employer engagement strategies.
