 I. JOB OVERVIEW 
Job Description Summary:  | Established in 1865, The George Washington University Law School is the oldest law school in Washington, DC. The American Bar Association accredits the school and is a charter member of the Association of American Law Schools. The law school is located on the GW campus in the downtown neighborhood familiarly known as Foggy Bottom.

This Enterprise Developer I position is a member of the Law Library team providing legal education technology services to support the Law School’s academic mission and curricular needs. The core responsibilities of this role are to provide application development, database programming, and data management for communication, research, teaching, and learning systems employed at the Law School. With a focus on user experience and business needs, this position is responsible for working as part of the team in identifying, developing, and supporting innovative information systems and technology strategies. A core component of this position is to increase efficiencies and operational redundancies. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Innovative Technology Services, the incumbent works within the Innovation Technology Services Department.

Job Responsibilities:
Participates in the review and definition of systems or job stream problems with department or user staff, and provides support for the Law School’s educational technology ecosystem. Assists with the Designing, developing, testing, correcting, and documenting of application and utility programs in support of new or existing application software and systems to meet the communication and legal education needs of the Law School, including but not limited to the learning management and academic recording systems. Provides data management and programming services supporting instructional technologies and systems managed by the Office of Instructional Technology. Participates in the development planning and support of Appoint link services at the Law School. Participates in systems analysis and design, identifying operational best practices for enterprise applications, systems programming, data management, and data security, including the application of university policies around security and data management. Assists in the analysis of existing programs and/or formulates logic for new systems; devises logic procedures; prepares flowcharts; performs coding, database programming, data analysis, documentation, and tests/debugs programs through the application of professional programming concepts. Supports the development and execution of test plans, including software functionality, integrity, and security; ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices. Participates in department collaboration with GW IT for the identification and implementation of digital transformation and identity management projects at the Law School. Captures workflows and processes in written documentation for operational redundancy and business continuity

Minimum Qualifications:  | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:   
Preferred Qualifications:  | Experience developing and scripting within Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or media content platforms such as Pathify, Canvas, and Kaltura. Proficiency in development using languages and tools such as Python, SQL, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git, and related toolchains. Familiarity with business intelligence and relational database systems. Ability to read, manipulate, and analyze data using CSV files. Strong skills in analyzing and documenting complex systems and workflows. Experience leveraging Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) for data management and collaboration. Demonstrated understanding of large-scale relational databases and data structures. Hands-on technical expertise in building highly scalable web applications.
