Executive Director, Digital Learning & Curriculum Innovation Full Description

Position Summary: The Executive Director of Digital Learning & Curriculum Innovation will lead the design, development, and scaling of innovation, flexible learning models that extend Tandon School of Engineering’s reach across professional, executive, and global education markets. This role will drive curriculum innovation across digital, hybrid, and modular formats, ensuring alignment with industry needs and advancing a comprehensive learning ecosystem. The Executive Director will be responsible for all matters related to day-to-day management, workflow, processes, and business operations of the Tandon Online team. The role oversees the full online team with three verticals: Course Development, Partnerships and Growth, and Enrollment & Marketing. Accountable for designing and delivering innovative, cutting-edge, high-quality, high-impact offerings using both asynchronous and synchronous learning, aimed at individual learners as well as corporate clients. The position requires the ability to design and implement remotely delivered programs that are typical to our existing portfolio as well as novel more accessible programs. The position requires the ability to gauge customer needs, match it with faculty expertise, and develop programs (both short and long duration) with speed on emerging technology topics.

The Executive Director will report directly to the Vice Dean for Academics and Student Affairs and share a passion for transforming how education is delivered. The position will collaborate with academic departments, department chairs, curriculum committees, and work closely with the Vice Dean of Academics and Student Affairs and senior leadership across Tandon to drive and support the development and execution of new curricula, ensuring alignment with accreditation requirements and NYSED approvals.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in a related area

Required Experience:
7+ years experience in operations or project management roles. Experience building and scaling an organization. Experience in designing and launching new programs/projects related to technology, and measuring outcomes in diverse settings, supervision and managing budgets.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Experience managing a budget of $10 million. Demonstrated experience and success in strategic leadership or managerial role related to online learning, running a division of similar scope and scale in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Entrepreneurial experience and functional expertise in go-to-market and partnership building.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven collaborator in a highly matrixed environment (e.g. faculty, staff, and administrators across the University) to drive successful outcomes. Demonstrated passion and willingness to learn and stay ahead of new learning methods and technologies. Strong project management skills. Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint). Ability to execute work based on objectives rather than explicit instructions. Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives. Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change. Strong attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and excellent follow-through. Must be able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively. Ability to think critically and identify potential issues before they arise. The ideal candidate would have worked with faculty as well as L&D professional in organizations to match learning needs with faculty expertise to create successful learning engagements.

Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $180,000.00 to USD $220,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
