The Executive Leader, K12-Praxis has overall responsibility for the strategic leadership and vision for the K12 division which includes, K12 Education, K12 Skills, Student Assessments and Praxis/Educator Solutions.

This Executive will be responsible for growing our current product lines and defining and entering new markets.

The incumbent will be accountable for P&L, revenue growth, and cost profile, as well as the success of these portfolios within test takers, Educator Preparation Programs, influencers, and decision makers to drive growth, volume, and market share.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage P&L that includes existing brands (E.g., Praxis) as well as new domestic and global initiatives
    • Setting strategy and driving growth across K12 markets
    • Grow and expand our K12 Skills products/portfolio
  • Provide executive leadership in the K12 education space by cultivating strong relationships with state superintendents and key education leaders.
  • Oversee external stakeholder engagement and communication, particularly across major partnerships and accounts.
  • Direct a unified sales and marketing strategy to accelerate growth for Praxis and ETS’s broader K12 offerings, ensuring full alignment with integrated sales efforts and leading the K12 sales team.
  • Maximize value from core products—especially the Praxis suite—through disciplined investment, innovation, and customer-focused commercialization.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards and full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Experience and Skills
  • Advanced degree (MA, PhD) in education, business, or similar is strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of demonstrated success leading teams
  • Previous experience as an educator and Superintendent/State leadership
  • Previous experience as CEO of a business/non-profit in the educator development space.
  • Commuting distance from ETS's Washington DC office or Princeton, NJ office is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, complex organizations with strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, operational execution skills, business management as well as the assessment industry’s key issues.
  • Proven ability to develop, launch, and scale new products; adept at applying emerging technologies to real business challenges and to drive high-performing sales and marketing teams.
  • Credible, organization-wide leader who balances strategic vision with effective, hands-on implementation. Clear communicator of vision/strategy that inspires commitment, creativity, and performance.
  • Skilled at structuring external partnerships that advance organizational goals.
  • Significant experience in successfully managing and meeting operational budgets and relevant financial metrics and experienced in strategic planning, contracting, negotiation, and change management.
  • Challenges staff to take calculated risks and foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and results; a strong leader who motivates, develops, and educates others.
  • Able to set and achieve complex, multi-unit strategic goals in competitive and rapidly changing environments and align business goals with the organization’s mission.
