The Faculty Support Coordinator provides administrative support to the Online Dean, Online Chairs, and online faculty members in matters related to online education. This position communicates to online faculty through weekly announcements, assists in course assignments, and coordinates online adjunct faculty hires. This position is located on campus in Lynchburg, VA.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Receives, manages, and enforces imperatives of the Online Dean and Vice Provost.
2. Receives and reviews recommended online faculty teaching assignments from Online Chairs and submits course assignments to the Online Dean.
3. Supports online faculty by responding to all questions related to online policies and procedures, technical issues, compensation, teaching load, future scheduling of courses W-9, etc.
4. Collects and reviews all assessment and course evaluations from Online Chairs and reports all online faculty assessment and course evaluations to the Online Dean.
5. Oversees the faculty application and hiring process.
6. Works with Online Chairs in order to maintain and update faculty communications.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
A bachelor's degree or 3-5 years' administrative experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Canvas, and ability to learn Sharepoint required. A master's degree, institutional knowledge of Liberty, and experience using Sharepoint preferred. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
