Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | Serves as the Finance Director for the Rule of Law Collaborative, Civil Rights Center, and the Anne Frank Center. Manages several grants, budgets, purchasing, and other financial transactions as necessary for these offices. Coordinates with State Department Offices, Department of the Interior, and other external parties as it relates to grants and contracts through these offices. Develops budgets and narratives around those budgets for the three offices for any submissions to potential public and private sector funding entities. HR support and coordination on any matters, including but not limited to recruiting, hiring, and separations.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 4 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials | N/A
Preferred Qualifications | A Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 4 years of related experience in higher education or the public sector, providing summarized analysis and recommendations to leadership from relevant data points using large and disparate data sets.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Understanding of basic accounting and financial management principles. Organizational and time management skills are essential for meeting deadlines. Analytical skills are needed to identify areas in which spending can be reduced. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
Job Duties
Job Duty | Fiscal Operations Oversight Manage the day-to-day fiscal activities, including the billing, disbursements, transfers, and account reconciliations for ROLC, Anne Frank, and Civil Rights Centers. Utilize the ERP system to execute and monitor financial transactions and seek guidance from the Provost’s Office leadership, the Controller’s Office, HR, or the Budget Office regarding anomalies or issues that may arise from the transactions. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial transactions and reporting.

Percentage of Time | 45Job Duty | Financial Analysis and Reporting Analyze and interpret complex financial data, records, and reports for both operational and project accounts as necessary Produce assessments and financial statements to support decision-making. This will include both repetitive monthly financial reports, along with ad hoc reports as necessary for supported unit directors. Apply knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning principles to the day-to-day functions of the role Project for current year-end or project fund balances, taking into account changes to the business plans or HR staffing changes that may occur
