Department Summary The TRIO Student Support Services office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Program Project Specialist. The office of TRIO Programs is a department within the Division of Student Affairs.
Position Overview The UNT TRIO Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Program Project Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Assist students with academic, financial, and personal concerns to increase academic success, persistence, and graduation rates. Advising for 90 to 100 participants to meet/exceed project expectations. Participate in activities that promote a campus climate conducive to student success. Act as a lead in supervising SSS student employees. Ensure the success of the SSS program by performing all other duties as assigned by the PI/Program Director. The TRIO Student Support Services Program is federally funded by the Department of Education.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field and one year of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent customer service skills. Ability to provide leadership for student employees and volunteers. Experience in networking across departments and programs. Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to execute multiple projects. Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Prior experience working with TRIO programs.
Required License/Registration/Certifications Job Duties
Develop, plan, and implement programs and services to help SSS participants persist and graduate within six years. Assist students with academic, financial, and personal concerns to increase academic success, persistence, and graduation rates by providing case management services and activities for 90 to 100 SSS participants. Cultivate and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders. Provide presentations and maintains high visibility on behalf of the SSS project. Participate in activities that promote a campus climate conducive to student success. Act as a lead in supervising SSS student employees.
