Position Summary:
Provide advising throughout the financial aid process to prospective, new and current students and their families. Provide positive direct client services to students, by ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university aid application processes. Help inform and problem solve for students to enable them to fund their NYU education. Educate students on the steps and impacts of their financial aid during and after graduation.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years experience in a financial aid and/or student services environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Financial aid counseling experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Commitment and ability to provide excellent customer service. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and client support skills. Working knowledge of Title IV and institutional financial aid processes and systems. Ability to use technology and information systems to support work and develop data (i.e. PeopleSoft, Campus Logic, Image Now, IDOC, Service Link, Cisco etc.). Must have a thorough knowledge of available types of financial aid, scholarships and general student eligibility criteria. Use of Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with Student Information System, needs' analysis, and federal/state financial aid programs

Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $67,100.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
