Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Financial Specialist II – Workforce Solutions is to perform financial operational duties for the Workforce Solutions department that includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budget reports, and assisting other Workforce Solutions team members to insure the overall success of the students and the department, to ensure compliant, accurate, and timely financial resource management within the department.

Job Duties:
Purchasing and Accounts Payable: Order classroom and office supplies. Monitor and pay invoices as appropriate. Secure food purchase approvals as needed. Process travel requests and reimbursements. Submit required form(s) with documentation for credit card purchases and complete monthly credit card reports.
Accounts Receivable: Prepare deposits and petty cash reports. Create and monitor workforce, community education, testing, and facility usage invoices. Prepare journal vouchers.
Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate records of income and expenses on budget reports. Maintain appropriate budget line balances. Balance budget to business office reports. Provide reports and projections to workforce chief. Maintain KCTCS TRAINS reimbursement documentation.
Payroll: Collaborate with human resources and workforce team to prepare and submit hiring packets, payroll contracts and agreement letters. Maintain payroll documentation on Workforce Solutions tracking spreadsheet.
Special Events: Assist with special events and programs, serve on college committees, and support Workforce Solutions team.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree and two years related work experience, or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills/soft-skills, attention to detail, accounting or bookkeeping experience, use of technology, and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in an open office environment, with flexible work schedule and campus locations.
